I’m slowly getting around to swatching and creating writing samples from the new inks I purchased and received from the DC Pen Show. My first inky swatch is from the Colorverse and Lucky Star Pens collaboration. It’s a special ink called Lucky Galaxy.

This is a bright pink ink with turquoise blue shimmering particles. My writing sample in my Lochby journal shows how bright and beautiful this ink color is.

I was curious about the shimmering particles and turned over my Colorverse bottle. I could see bits of the turquoise blue particles as well as bits of lavender purple. I believe that’s the result of the pink ink mixing with the blue shimmers and creating this lovely lavender color.

I had the perfect pen to go with this lovely shimmering ink.

I pulled out my swatch cards to see how Lucky Galaxy compares to my other two favorite pink colors.

Here’s an angled view of my swatches.

I now have three favorite pink ink colors. From my swatches, I can see the unique pink personalities. Also, I tend to prefer/lean towards bolder pink colors for writing.
I would describe Lucky Galaxy as a vibrant happy pink color. It’s a wet ink and the shimmers flow flawlessly in my pen with a Fine nib.
I was able to create this quick sketch using Lucky Galaxy along with Thunderstorm. I’m using my new Nebula journal to see how my pen & ink washes behave with this paper. I love how I can get different hues of this pink color to show depending on how much water I apply.
