I know I mentioned in one of my previous blog post that I had put myself on a “no buying pens or inks” diet and what did I do? Yep! I purchased some new inks by Robert Oster.
Rob is celebrating seven years of producing some of the finest quality inky colors on the market. I purchased my first RO inks back in 2019 and have continuously added additional inks that caught my eye.
The trio of anniversary inks I received include Jewel in the Crown (shimmer), Mystic Storm, and Majestic Black.
Majestic Black is Rob’s first black ink color and I have to mention it is truly a black inky color. This ink appears to have a tiny bit of blue undertone.
Jewel in the Crown is a gray-green ink with lovely gold shimmering particulates. It reminds me of an olive green color. When the ink interacts with water, a green base color appears.
Mystic Storm is a standard dark gray-blue ink color with blue-purple undertones.
Many of my readers know how much I adore using Thunderstorm for my sketches. It was a no brainer to get these special inks to try in my pen & ink sketches.

Ooops! I forgot to create my swatch cards for this trio of colors. I am so out of practice. Once I create my swatches and let them dry, I will update this blog to show the actual color(s) I see with each ink. I will be back with the updates later this week.
