Here’s a rare sight to see. A picture of my fifteen (15) empty TWSBI GOs. This saddens me when I catch a glimpse of my empty pens as it’s a reminder that I’m not actively creating my colorful pen and ink sketches.

This scenario will change as I have my swatch cards out and I’m figuring out which inky colors to start filling my pens again. It can be a bit overwhelming to narrow down my choices when I have over a hundred swatch cards staring back at me. I think this is a good problem to have.
This has been hard, but I’ve had to put a pause on pen and ink purchases as I have less time to enjoy them like I used to. For now, I keep three Pilot pens in rotation and renew my love for the current inks I have in my collection. They are mostly Robert Oster and Van Dieman’s Inks that are still my faves.
When I have a few minutes and I’m in the mood to play with my inks, I’ve been using my River City Pen Co nib holder with my stainless steel Kakimori nib.

This nib and holder allows me to grab my sample ink vials and start writing and sketching. I do not have to worry about filling a pen and leaving it unattended on my desk for weeks.
The Kakimori nib is easy to swish in a cup of water and cleans up easily with a towel.
